The period table of typeface

The above table showed 100 famous typeface in the world, and the top 30 typefaces are all designers should know. ha~ Any kind we know yet?

I think the table is interesting in visual, and also meaningful in mind.
This idea combined two complex issues into one symbolic graphic which is a good inspiration for us.

In this modern day, design is not only for appreciation or use.
We need interaction!
We all want to join in a perfect design to enjoy the experience.

The above design is called "Audience" a recent installation at the Royal Opera House (2008-11)that starts to look at the behaviour of objects. With Audience they intended to take interaction with and reaction to technology away from the screen or media wall and introduce it into a physical, three dimensional space, hoping to establish a different kind of relationship between viewer and technology.

Publishing technology- 0311 tutorial lesson

In today lesson, we have learned some basic information about colors, papers and printing. These are the important elements to affect our print-out design.Sometimes our graphic design are quite simple and non exquisite, but if we can porperly match up with paper and printing effect, those artwork can also become singenious. I think the most significant point for using fine paper and printing effect is their texture and feeling. That's like the handicrafts often are stylish and special.

The below is my intial research for today topic:

I want to let us know more about the type of paper products that a paper company offers normally through showing the product list.

WWF: Paper Dispenser

To make people realize that saving the planet starts with them saving paper, we took a standard paper dispenser and made a simple modification with green foil and the silhouette of South America. This allowed us to prove that the survival of the forest is directly connected to what people consume.

I think the idea is both interesting in interaction and visible satisfication.However this execution will be hinder by the higher cost of preparing green tissue. I like the media which used to express the environmental-friendly meaning .

The project analysis:
•施力的方向可能影響紙巾的柔韌度的結果
•測試紙巾在一定時間內的吸水高度,可以減低
實驗的時間
•人們抹汗的方法與實驗的不同,這樣實驗
結果未必能反映真實情況
•強風影響紙巾的吸水速度

•吸水率
最佳的是「7days」，最差的是「 tempo」。
•柔韌度
最佳的是「活力」，最差的是「潔柔 」

Conclusion:

我們一共測試了九種不同牌子的紙巾, 包括測試它們的柔韌度和吸水率。而當中有好幾種紙巾私柔韌度都非常好,九種紙巾中吸水率最好的是7 days牌紙巾,柔韌度最好的是活力牌紙巾。而最差吸水率是tempo紙巾,而柔韌最差的是潔柔牌紙巾。

CitySuper dives into social media Hong Kong

- Specialty retailer CitySuper made its first foray into online advertising, using the MSN-Windows Live platform to promote itself as the ultimate lifestyle shopping destination.
The group has launched a City Blogger page on Windows Live covering four separate categories; CityEating, CityCooking, OpenWine and LifeStyle.
The campaign was developed by Pixel Media and Microsoft Advertising in a bid to engage its current and potential customers in a newer way. Pixel Media is the exclusive sales representative for Microsoft Advertising and the campaign marks CitySuper's first use of the online medium for advertising.
The blog will act as a supplement of its official site to provide additional and more casual information to the CitySuper community.
Bonnie Chow, marketing manager at CitySuper, said City Blogger would be an important channel to deliver value and vision of the CitySuper brand to customers.
Winky Chan, managing director of Pixel Media, added that social media and blogging had grown tremendously over the past two years and had already hit the critical mass.
"More advertisers utilize community and blog platform to engage with their audiences," she said.

This idea i have thought before view this article.
But,unfortunitely this idea have executed three months ago.
Internet media is undoubtedly become more beneficial channel for advertising,
so digital media programe will be more and more popular.

Bigger do not mean clearer!

This ad is from a design company which sells that they can cater to your requirement in enlarging your brand logo, headline or so on. Maybe this message is work for the small part of businessmen, but this is totally unpopular for me. Some brand owers insist to put their logo in the most attractive position in the poster with big size. It is a point always be controversial within Creative director and the client.

In fact, the bigger one does not equal to more effective one. Creative director are concerned about the whole aesthetic and design in the poster.What they need to do in a poster doesnt only for drawing attention to your logo and headline, but deliverying your core selling message to your target audiences. Obviously, message is more important.

I am confused about the meaning in the first time.I think the original idea is simple and OK, but the execution can't meet HKpeople habits.
Perhaps the problem is the CD is not the HK people to understand the reading style in HK which is not long time and prefer to stay at home , cafe or library.

"Cover" is not easy

My God! I was exhuasted.

I really felt it: "Design needs talent".

I have used a whole day time to prepare my profoilo layout but there only contains 24 pages!
For only a red 3D ball ,I was audited again and again, then correct and correcting...

In fact, i am doubt about " Am i talent in deisgn?"
